Hi fam! You all know that I much prefer to hear YOUR stories, but I’ll share with you all some of my background.

I have always been into sports since I was very young. Around the age of 5 I began to fall in love with basketball and t-ball (softball). As I grew up, so did my competitive nature and I just could NOT get enough of these sports and gave myself the title of girl jock.

BASKETBALL FUN FACT: Back in the 90’s I could name all the NBA teams, their top players and which conference they hailed from.

BASEBALL FUN FACT: I used to have my Dad buy Yankees programs so I could keep stats during games.

FOOTBALL FUN FACT: I was a DIE-HARD 49ers fan growing up and would stay up WAY past my bedtime to watch the playoffs.

Movement was my medicine and kept me centered as I grew up. I always wanted to get stronger, faster and more confident. I played my sports through High School and then real life happened… COLLEGE.

I attended Indiana University and graduated with a BS in Public Affairs, certificate in Business and a minor in Spanish. After that I was contemplating my next steps and applied to Law School and got in, but did not go. I ended up realizing that Public Policy and Government Affairs had my heart, so I went to graduate school and received my Master of Public Administration. SCHOOL FUN FACT: I’m a HUGE public policy nerd and LOVE to play a good devil’s advocate.

I am a happily married wife and mama to two beautiful daughters. Once life settled into adulthood, I rekindled my relationship with my health and began to get back into health. Exercise became a complete way of life for me and I never looked back. I would wake up early some days to get my movement in before motherhood began, but most days my girls would hang out and watch me WORK.

Several years later we bought our Peloton and I didn’t look back. Shortly after having the bike, strength came into the picture and so did #hardCORE. I furthered my schooling by becoming a Certified Personal Trainer with NASM.

I quickly realized that all of my years of studying public policy and law changed the way I approach everything in my life- be open minded and evaluate every angle when working toward a goal; By reviewing all possibilities (classes) without bias, I was able to create a comprehensive strength calendar. Moreover, my understanding of busy schedules allowed me to empathetically approach my programming so that EVERYONE can succeed regardless of how much time they have.

That brings me to the present- I have built my life based on “fitness for health”. Aging is a tough pill to swallow and all I’ve ever wanted to do is help everyone to feel confident as they journey through life and work to be HEALTHY. I preach health and wellness everyday and it’s a commonplace in my household. My husband and I always said that we want our girls to have some sort of movement/sport in their life and they, of course, chose sports that neither of us did as kids (my husband was a very competitive soccer player)- competitive swim and dive. I am now working with my girls’ competitive dive team as their strength coach. It is one of the most fulfilling things I’ve done in my entire life.

We never know how our journey will unfold, but what we can control is habits we choose to form.

I choose health.

I choose strength.

I choose to help people everyday.
